Central Water Alliance with UA System eVersity

Central Arkansas Water, the largest public drinking water system in the state, has a good understanding of the difference a quality education can make in the lives of its employees and families.

Central Arkansas Water recently became the newest member of the University of Arkansas System eVersity’s alliance program. They see the state’s only 100 percent-online institution’s structure as a key benefit to offer its employees.

“People who are working and raising families and balancing everything else that life is throwing at them don’t always have time to make it to a campus,” said C. Tad Bohannon, Chief Executive Officer at Central Arkansas Water. “I’m excited about all of the ways that eVersity makes it feasible for our employees and their families to access high-quality degree programs in an efficient and manageable way.”

Central Arkansas Water, which serves more than 450,000 consumers in 18 cities and communities, already knows the importance of an educated workforce. The utility provides tuition reimbursement towards the cost of higher education for its more than 300 employees. This eVersity alliance will also extend a discount to employees’ families.

“We have a lot of people working out in the field and on all different kinds of schedules, and being able to log in and work toward a degree by taking one class at a time is a great incentive,” Bohannon said. “An educated workforce is a stronger, happier and healthier workforce, so we’re very excited to make this available to our employees.”
